Honeymoon is a must – especially after a hard work you put into your wedding prep, you and your partner deserve a break.

Nowadays, more and more couple postpone their honeymoon for later. One of the reasons is lack of time (many couples take time off work to get their first dance polished, or simply take care of the last few wedding details 😉 ). Another reason is the cost. We’ve prepared a list of honeymoon destinations for up to £4,000* so you don’t need to leave anything for later.

1. Negril Beach, Jamaica

Jamaica is often picked by the newly weds due to its sunny beaches and beautiful weather. Negril city in particular is a place where Bob Marley, Bob Dylan and the Rolling Stones used to come to get away from their every day life – so that’s another reason why you should come here if you’re their fun.

The suggested, affordable place to go to is Negril. The best time in a year is in colder (UK) months, such as September, November, early December, late January.

The islands of the Maldives offer tranquility from the harsh realities of the outside world. There is plenty to do and see. The Maldives are also famous for their unique culture and cuisine. We’ve found that if you look at honeymoons before Christmas or Valentine’s Day (and purchase it now to go in a few months) you can find some really nice offers. For instance, the one we’ve recently stumbled upon is for a honeymoon in June at the Bandos Island Resort (view the offer here). The cost, £1,966 for 2 people for 7 nights.

3. Peru, South America

Peru is a very interesting honeymoon destination. Firstly, due its ancient history. Secondly, the people. Inca ruins are considered to be some of the most beautiful and mysterious sites in the world. The remains of ancient civilisations are not only represented by the Inca ruins. There, you’ll also be able to find ancient civilisations in the city of Chan Chan, Lake Titicaca, the city of Puno and at the Nazca Lines.

The people. Many Peruvians still have a direct link with their Inca ancestors, so having conversations with them about their lives would make your trip even more interesting.

4. Tokyo & Kyoto, Japan

Kyoto, Japan

If you and your second half are the anime fans, Japan is the place you should go to. Of course, it’s an amazing destination for your honeymoon for more than this one reason. It has an amazing sightseeing sites, for instance Kyoto offers about 2,000 Buddhist temples for you to see. Nara (the capital of Japan’s Nara Prefecture) is a home to 8 UNESCO World Heritage Sites as well as is a home to 1,700 cherry trees. Kyoto is another popular destination; famous for its geishas (in the Gion district), Fushimi Inari Shrine

Japan is also famous for its “weird” flavours (as seen by the Europeans), which include Kit Kat‘s all sorts of tastes (green tea, soybean, blueberry cheesecake, grilled potato and wasabi) as well as products such as eel soda, horseflesh ice cream or a placenta drinks. This makes Japan also a challenging destination 😉

Thailand is also picked by many couples for their honeymoon destinations due to its beautiful beaches, food, friendly locals and the fact that it offers incredible value for money.

Mexico

Mexico city could be a nice destination to visit whilst in Mexico. Why? The city seems to be avoided by tourists so visiting it would almost make you feel like a local 🙂 Here you will find museums, historic churches, plazas, buildings, and incredible parks.

Your honeymoon could be spent in Cancun, the city that os bordering the Caribbean Sea. It’s knows for its beaches, numerous resorts and nightlife. The place is popular for its water activities. You can do snorkeling and diving along the Mesoamerican Reef, or in one of the region’s many sinkholes, known as cenotes. Sailing and jet-skiing are also common in the calm Nichupté Lagoon.
